So I know it is past Valenitine's Day, but I just checked and saw your request for a sugar cookie recipe. I used this one years ago and it is delicious. I hope it still works :). I haven't made it probably since I have had children. I really have not mastered frosting cookies or cupcakes for that matter so avoid it like the plague!
Sugar Cookies
4 cubes of butter
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
6 tsp baking powder
4 tsp vanilla
7 c. flour
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time. Then the vanilla. Lastly add the flour and BP. Roll out, cut and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
Let me know how it works! I remember these cookies to be super soft and delicious.
